Andre
Agassi shared an image promoting his wife
Steffi Graf for winning more
US Open
titles than him, and fans delightedly reacted on social media.
The former
tennis couple has a total of 30 Grand Slam titles, with the American winning 8
and the German an incredible 22 titles. Graf held the record for the most major
victories in the Open Era for decades until she was surpassed by Serena
Williams.
Despite
many years since their retirements, both continue to make public appearances.
Their most recent involvement in an event was at Pickleball Slam 2, where they
faced Maria Sharapova and John McEnroe in mixed doubles, with the couple
securing the title.
Both Agassi
and Graf reached the world No. 1 during their careers, and Graf also held the
record for the most weeks at the top of the rankings with 377 weeks, only
recently surpassed by Novak Djokovic, who has secured 418 weeks at the
pinnacle.
Recently,
Agassi shared a photo on social media of his US Open ring, a memento awarded to
the champion each year at Flushing Meadows.
However,
the American mentioned that he lives with a 'lady' who has many more rings than
him. Agassi won the US Open in 1994 and 1999, while his wife Graf was a
five-time champion in 1988, 1989, 1993, 1995, and 1996.
"A
lady I live with has more of these," Agassi captioned his Instagram post.
