Nishikori injury woes continue, halts Delray Beach Open comeback

Kei Nishikori was supposed to make his comeback at the Delray Beach event near his home in Florida but the Japanese player won't play at the event as he pulled out.

Nishikori has been fighting very hard to try and stage a comeback to tennis but repeated injuries and setbacks are making it very hard for him. His last match happened in October of 2021 and since then he had to postpone his return a couple of times already. It was supposed to happen in Delray Beach in a few weeks but it won't as Nishikori withdrew from the event.

Despite the most recent setback, Nishikori remains optimistic about a return to tennis as he admitted recently that he plans on playing for a few more years if his body allows him. It's not looking very good at the moment but many tennis fans are hopeful about seeing the former number four back on the courts.
