Novak Djokovic is set to make his return to
US Open later this year with no restrictions in place to stop him from attending his first grand slam on US soil in two years.
Djokovic missed two US Open's due to his unvaccinated status but he won't miss a 3rd one. The country is set to lift all restrictions towards unvaccinated people making Djokovic eligible to enter the country legally and play at the event. The restrictions are still in place which is why Djokovic was forced to miss Indian Wells and Miami but they are going to be lifted in a few weeks.
The last time Djokovic played at the event was in 2021 when he reached the final with a chance of completing the calendar grand slam but Daniil Medvedev proved too strong for the Serbian. His return to tennis after missing the Sunshine double will come in Monte-Carlo where he made his first appearance last year too.
In the meantime, Djokovic enjoyed some basketball in his native Belgrade cheering on his favourite team Red Star Belgrade.
