The Belgrade natives Janko Tipsarevic and
Novak Djokovic have known each other for decades, pushing each other to achieve more and defending national colors en route to the Davis Cup crown in 2010.
Janko Tipsarevic couldn't follow Djokovic's pace in his younger years, reaching his peak in 2011 and 2012 to crack the top-10. Instead of moving even forward, Janko started to struggle with injuries, undergoing a couple of surgeries and trying to make a comeback a couple of times before retiring in 2019. Tipsarevic owns tennis Academy at home in Serbia and in a few other countries, working with the upcoming stars and passing his knowledge.
Speaking about his friend Novak Djokovic, Janko said that the 18-time Major champion is incredibly humble outside the court and very unmaterialistic. Also, Novak hasn't changed since Janko met him for the first time years ago, staying the same person and always trying to help everybody.
"Novak is incredibly humble off the court. He is probably talking about this stature, the most unmaterialistic person that you would ever meet. Like when you normally create generational wealth, people like this tend to change.
From the moment that I know him up until this point, Novak didn't change one single bit in any way. Novak is definitely the most unmaterialisitic person that I know. A guy with a big heart who is always trying to help everybody, especially Serbia and his teammates," Janko Tipsarevic said.
