In the semis, Sinner defeated Roberto Bautista Agut 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in two hours and 28 minutes, overcoming a 3-1 deficit in the final set to cross the finish line and remain on the title course. Jannik blasted 37 winners and 53 unforced errors, dictating the pace and fending off seven out of ten break chances. The Spaniard suffered four breaks and lost ground after that lead in the decider, failing to bring the victory home and finishing his journey in the semis.
Jannik got broken already in the first game before pulling the break back in game six for 3-3. The youngster saved three break chances in the next game for his first lead before Bautista Agut grabbed a late break at 5-5 and closed the set after 51 minutes. Sinner survived the second set's seventh game and gained momentum, breaking Roberto at 15 in game ten to force a decider.
Starting all over, Bautista Agut produced two comfortable holds at the start of the final set and scored a break in game three for a 3-1 lead. Jannik broke back at love in game six and sealed the deal at 5-4 thanks to a backhand crosscourt winner that gave him a break at love and the triumph.
