"Novak Djokovic helps players a lot; something Rafael Nadal has never really shown in his career" - says Damir Dzumhur

Damir Dzumhur has backed Novak Djokovic over Rafael Nadal explaining that the Serbian did more for tennis players than Nadal did.

While Nadal is far more popular than Djokovic, the Serbian still has many fans among his fellow colleagues. One of them is former top 30 player Dzumhur who has trained with Djokovic for many years and uses his Belgrade facilities often.

Dzumhur made the comments about the Djokovic vs Nadal debate in a recent interview explaining why:

"Novak helps players a lot more, not just players from the former Yugoslavia, but tennis in general, he tries harder to help other players, to improve the ATP Tour, to improve the conditions for all players not just for the top-100, but for those who are in the top-200, top-300, top-400. It's something that I think Nadal has never really shown in his career."

It's an interesting point, especially in light of Djokovic's PTPA initiative which saw the backing of several athletes but also strong opposition from some top players like Federer and Nadal who sided with the ATP calling for unity in tennis.
