Doubles tennis legend Todd Woodbridge believes
Novak Djokovic's run at Roland Garros proves he's the heavy favourite to win
Wimbledon.
Novak Djokovic put forward some legendary performances at the 2021 Roland Garros which he ended up winning. His run towards the trophy included several comebacks. He was down 0-2 against Musetti but came back to win. He was down 0-1 against Nadal but came back in sensational fashion to defeat him 3-1.
He was then down 0-2 in the final against Tsitsipas but once again came back to win the match. 9x Wimbledon doubles champion Todd Woodbridge believes that his incredible run at the French Open makes him a clear favourite for Wimbledon.
He said:
"The Golden Slam is very much on the cards; there is no doubt about that. What Novak managed to produce in Paris, in two comebacks from two sets to love down, is some of the best mental stuff you'll ever see. Now, he does get a bit extreme at times on the court, but he's an athlete who can focus on what he needs to do to get the result done."
Woodbridge concluded his remarks by saying:
"He's just freshening up; he is down in Mallorca on grass courts to get ready for Wimbledon. He most definitely goes as a heavy favourite at Wimbledon."
