Novak
Djokovic leads the 2023 ATP Tour's best win rate with an impressive statistic
of over 90% matches won
The World
No. 1 has undoubtedly had the best year among tennis players despite playing
fewer tournaments than his rivals. Djokovic won three out of four Grand Slam
titles this year, with his only loss coming at Wimbledon, where he reached the
final but was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz in five sets.
The
recently revealed win rate statistics for the top-performing tennis players in
2023 show that Djokovic is at the top with 46 wins and only five losses,
resulting in a win rate of 90.2%.
The ranking
also includes the rest of the top 4 players: Alcaraz in second place, Daniil
Medvedev in third, and Jannik Sinner. Additionally, it's surprising to see
American Taylor Fritz in the fifth position on the list, despite currently
being ranked World No. 10.
Novak
Djokovic's remarkable 2023 season has been marked by an outstanding win-loss
record. His first defeat of the year came in the semifinals of the Dubai Open
against Daniil Medvedev, following an impressive 16-match winning streak at the
beginning of the season.
He suffered
two surprising losses in consecutive tournaments as the clay season kicked off,
first in Monte-Carlo against Lorenzo Musetti and then at the Srpska Open, where
he was defeated by his compatriot Dusan Lajovic.
If
Djokovic's clay season hadn't started poorly enough, he faced another
unexpected loss at the Rome Open, this time in the quarterfinals against the
World No. 7, Holger Rune.
However,
these setbacks didn't deter him from claiming victory at the French Open just
two weeks later. His most recent loss was in the challenging Wimbledon final,
where he was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic has participated in ten
tournaments and secured five titles. Additionally, he holds a record of 11 wins
and 3 losses against top-10 players this year, showcasing his dominance on the
tour.
