Patrick Mouratoglou has shared his thoughts on the future of men's tennis and the younger generation in the absence of the legendary Big Three - Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.
The well-known tennis coach, who has worked with Serena Williams in the past, commented on the progression of the sport after the dominance of the Big Three, who have a combined total of 66 Grand Slam titles and over 900 weeks as World No. 1.
The trio began their dissolution when Federer retired from the sport in September 2022, playing his final match at the Laver Cup. Meanwhile, Nadal has been absent for the majority of this season due to injury and has suggested that the 2024 season could be his last.
Therefore, while Djokovic is still dominating the ATP Tour - sitting as the current World No. 1 and having won three out of four Grand Slam titles this year - it is clear that the reign of the Big Three as a collective has come to an end.

Mouratoglou excited for young stars

In an Instagram reel dedicated to Djokovic and his sporting rivals, Mouratoglou shared his gratitude for the Big Three and what they did for tennis.
"We've been lucky to witness the three greatest, playing at the same time in the same era, we're so lucky to have that. But we knew at some point this would stop, even though when it happens of course, we feel it's an important page of our sport that gets turned," he said.
The 53-year-old then went on to talk about the younger generation in men's tennis, including some photos of Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune over his words.
"But I think tennis never stops, and new stars are coming up. We have a lot of young players from the new generation that are super exciting to watch.
"It's gonna be different tennis probably, but I think it's also super exciting to not know who can win. We might have a situation like this in the future, or not! We'll see," he continued.
