Tennis legend Yannick Noah grew up in Cameroon and on social media, he shared a video showing kids from Cameron and their passion for tennis which touched Novak Djokovic.
The 1983 French Open champion shared a video on his social media where kids from his native Cameroon are shown enthusiastically playing the game of tennis. You can see how eager they are to play tennis not only by their behavior but also by their loud chants of excitement. Novak Djokovic took notice of this and reposted the video on his own social media channels.
The Serbian ace wrote:
“This is pure love and passion for tennis. I love this video and send my gratitude to the coaches who made this happen. So creative, well done! P.S. I love how they sing and hop while waiting for their turn to hit the ball.”
Another player who chimed in was Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who has roots in Africa as well being that his father is Congolese. He wrote:
“Too proud to see that! @yannicknoah this is inspiring.”
The video is of children participating in the Oyebog Tennis Academy, a non-profit organization founded by Cameroonian Joseph Oyebog who climbed as high as No. 1187 in the FedEx ATP Doubles Rankings. Check out the video and Novak's accompanying message below.
