Novak Djokovic will not play at either event during this year's Sunshine Double with the
Miami Open the latest to fall by the wayside withdrawing from the tournament on Friday evening.
Djokovic initially applied for an exemption of sorts due to the restrictions being lifted in May meaning while he cannot enter at the moment under the vaccine mandate, he could for the US Open.
This was denied which started an ongoing row between governors and those involved in tennis to attempt to get Djokovic to play but like Indian Wells, the thought process was always there that if he couldn't play for definite, he would withdraw before the draw takes place.
This is the case and he is also joined by Sebastian Korda who hopes to now come back at the Estoril Open.
