The Entry List for the 2022 Australian Open was revealed a few days ago and it featured a name many wondered about when it comes to the event. Novak Djokovic is on the entry list indicating that he most likely will play at the event. Many fans and pundits took it as such but Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley clarified a day later than having his name on the entry list does not mean anything.
Players can still be barred from entry if they failed to meet the requirements of entry with being vaccinated by one of the recognized vaccines as the major one. For Australian tennis legend Todd Woodbridge there is no question whether Djokovic will be there. He said:
"[His entry] is good for tennis, for [Djokovic] fans, they will rejoice, and I also think for Sydney fans. He had the choice to enter or not register, so he put his name on the list of registrants and that means that you must believe that he will come throughout the summer."
