Novak Djokovic will play Belgrade confirms uncle Goran Djokovic

Novak Djokovic won the second Belgrade Open last year and he will return in 2022 to try and defend his title.

After winning the final against Molcan, Djokovic famously announced that he will win the French Open and he did just two weeks later. Whether something similar happens this year remains to be seen but his uncle Goran Djokovic confirmed to the media that Djokovic will play the event once more.

Speaking to Telegraf, Goran Djokovic took aim at Australia saying:

"Unlike the problems in Australia, everything should be fine here. Novak confirmed that he will certainly participate, and we still have a lot of attractive applications, so we expect a strong tournament again."

The event is set for the end of April and the entry list has not yet been revealed. It will certainly feature Djokovic and several other big name tennis players as the event is enjoying increased popularity as of late. Djokovic has not yet publcily spoken about the Australian Open fiasco despite announcing last week he wil ladrees the matter publicy in the next 10 days.
