Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the 2024 Paris Masters and will not be able to defend his crown. The Serbian holds the record for the most titles at Paris-Bercy, with seven trophies, in addition to two runner-up finishes. However, he has decided to end his season for now, leaving only the ATP Finals ahead, though his qualification is yet to be confirmed.
Although Djokovic appeared on the entry list, he will not be part of the draw, as reported by Sportklub. The 24-time Grand Slam champion was aiming for his last tournament of the season in Paris before potentially playing in the ATP Finals. He currently sits in 6th place in the ATP Race.
This week, Djokovic competed in the exhibition tournament Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia, where he faced Rafael Nadal for the last time and finished in third place. In conversations with journalists, Djokovic said he hoped to play a couple more tournaments before the season ended, but he had not confirmed his schedule.
After reaching the final of the Shanghai Masters a week ago, Djokovic climbed to 6th place in the ATP Race, and his potential qualification seemed increasingly likely. Advancing a couple of rounds in Paris would have probably secured his spot in Turin. Nevertheless, his qualification still seems probable, though doubts now arise over whether he will actually participate in Turin or if he will call an early end to his season, returning in 2025.
