After issues with his serve were mooted, his uncle Toni Nadal has confirmed that the main problem about his nephew Rafael Nadal playing right now surrounds this after he withdrew from the 2024 Monte-Carlo Masters.
It is yet another aborted comeback for Nadal who since getting injured has decided against playing at the Australian Open, Qatar Open, Indian Wells and now Monte-Carlo Masters in a worrying sign for his Roland Garros participation. The Spaniard has had a back issue in recent months and has not been able to serve properly. Attention will turn to Roland Garros and being fit for definite for that, but Nadal even noted too that warm-ups are needed.

"Especially when it comes to serving because he has no problem with anything else when he trains," he said to EFE.
"Either you go one hundred percent or better not to participate. You need play a previous tournament to be able to have a good Roland Garros."

- The main difference for bigger names like Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverez, etc. is that they usually make it to the later stages of tournaments while 99% of the other players win a round or two and then move on to the next tournament.
