Tennis fans react to the news of Greece’s
Stefanos Tsitsipas
hiring one-time Grand Slam winner
Goran Ivanisevic as his coach. The
26-year-old, who is regarded as one of the most talented players currently
playing in men’s tennis in the singles category, has struggled to produce results
consistently on the court, especially after parting ways from his father who
was his long-time coach.
As per the latest report, Tsitsipas has hired Ivanisevic as
his coach. Some media reports claim that the 53-year-old, who is famous for his
coaching stint with the former world number one and Serbia’s legendary tennis
star Novak Djokovic, will join the Greek
tennis star after the French Open. Tennis fans on the social media platform
reacted to the news. One fan stated that the move might well make the Athens-born
star one of the dark horses for the Grand Slams later in the year. “Awesome! 🤩
I think Stef is coming for a Grand Slam and is my Dark Horse pick for RG25.”
Another one wrote:
“Glad to see that. He deserves a good place after that Rybakina mess.” One fan
mentioned that the move might be the best one from Tsitsipas in his career. “One
of the best moves Stefanos has made.”
Tsitsipas recently played in the Monte-Carlo Masters, but his journey ended in the quarterfinal when he lost to Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti with a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-4. Before that, he played in the Miami Open, but his journey ended in the second round when he lost to America’s Sebastian Korda in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 6-4. During the competition, he spoke about how his game has improved in recent years.
“I wasn’t doing great lately, and the last few months
weren’t amazing for me,” he said back then. “I didn’t have any big results or
victories that I could say that I’m headed towards a good direction with my
game. So I feel like that caption sort of was a summary of the last few months.
