America’s tennis star
Frances Tiafoe has heaped praise on the
former world number one
Caroline Wozniacki.
Denmark’s veteran tennis star recently came out of retirement
after a gap of more than three years and is currently taking part in the US
Open 2023.
Tiafoe, while talking to the media, heaped praise on ‘legend’
Wozniacki and revealed that it was ‘nice’ to have a training session with her.
"Caro, obviously she's a legend, one of the nicest
people I've ever met,” he said. “It's cool to hit some balls with her, joke
around. She's such a legend of our sport. It's cool to have her back, competing
at a high level."
Tiafoe has booked his place in the third round of the US
Open after securing a straight-set win against Austria’s Sebastian Ofner with a
score of 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. He will now face Adrian Mannarino of France in the
round of 32 clash on Friday.
On the other hand, Wozniacki has already booked her place in
the round of 32 after securing a thumping win in straight sets against Czech
Republic’s Petra Kvitova with a score of 7-5, 7-6. She will now face America’s Jennifer
Brady in the third-round clash on Friday.
