Reilly Opelka claimed his third tour title over the past week at the
Dallas Open but didn't take all of the prize money home with him after landing a strange fine.
Opelka wore a hat throughout the ceremony which broke the rules and is in the ATP rule book under dress and equipment code of conduct. It says 'No hat or headband, with or without logos, may be worn during the awards ceremony.'
He was handed an undisclosed fine as a result and criticised ATP CEO Andrea Gaudenzi when asked how long it would be before he was asked to remove it.
“He’s too busy not taking salary cuts while players still are.” Opelka wrote.
