Opelka reflects on mental state during bubble life: "It can get dark and it's scary"

Reilly Opelka reached the final of the National Bank Open losing out to Daniil Medvedev in the final as he continued his brilliant form as of late.

But still Opelka like many has seen the bubble life take its toll over the past year with Wimbledon, Roland Garros and Australian Open in particular seeing hard quarantine.

He discussed this and called it 'scary' at times especially when the mental state of a person is already low.

“This is a fragile time in everyone’s life. This bubble stuff — you can’t factor in how much it weighs on each person,” said Opelka.

“When you’re in a bad frame of mind, it can get dark and it’s scary. It really is. It’s scary.”
