The entire tennis community will have it's eyes fixed on Center Court when Jannik Sinner takes the stage, as the World No.1 returns from his three-month ban due to anti-doping violations.
The Australian Open champion has only played one tournament during the 2025 ATP season, successfully defending his Australian Open title in Melbourne. However, Sinner was forced to serve a three month suspension after testing positive for Clostebol, a prohibited substance, at last year's Indian Wells event.

Movement is key, claims Mouratoglou

Although Sinner will likely suffer from match rust in his second round showdown with Argentine Mariano Navone, it will be used to determine how ready he is as Roland Garros approaches. Renown coach Patrick Mouratoglou is of the opinion that Sinner should still be considered a favorite to lift the title at the French Open, with the Italian's movement on clay likely to give him an edge against the competition.
"A tennis court automatically makes him a potential Grand Slam winner," said Mouratoglou. "The fact that he moves so well and is comfortable on clay makes him a potential Roland Garros winner, because the key element to perform well on clay is movement. Of course, if you have a lot of variety, if you are able to produce incredible topspin with your forehand, it is a plus.
"But we have seen in the past many potential Roland Garros winners who were not supposed to be clay-court players. Novak, for example, is not the prototype clay-court player. So I think Jannik can definitely win Roland Garros. What he needs is a few matches in a row to start really feeling the game because he has no competition."
