"Perfect introduction from the perfect person" - tennis fans celebrate Nadal introducing Federer at Laver Cup gala

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will take the court in about an hour to two, but last night tennis fans were very touched when Nadal announced Federer at the Laver Cup gala.

As always, the night before the Laver Cup begins, we have a gala where tennis players are announced and spend a nice evening before becoming foes on the court. Generally, all players are announced by the same person but last night Rafael Nadal was the one that introduced Federer. He said:

"Probably one of the most iconic athletes in the history. If we talk about perfection on the tennis court, it’s him. An amazing inspiration for everyone who loves sport and in a personal way, a great friend. Somebody that I look (up at) to improve in every single way.This weekend is probably going to be probably one of the toughest moments."

Nadal added:

"Mr Roger Federer had to say goodbye but let's enjoy this moment, let's celebrate. He had an amazing career."
