Andrea Petkovic retired from tennis two years ago, but she remains very active and attentive to what's happening on the circuit. The former world No. 9 recently shared her opinion on Nick Kyrgios' comments regarding the relationship between Anna Kalinskaya, who was once his partner, and Jannik Sinner.

Petkovic Criticizes Kyrgios for Misogynistic Remarks

"His comments on social media make me sad and angry, but mostly sad. He could be really great on TV, but he keeps sabotaging himself with misogynistic nonsense. I may not be a fan of his style on television, but his content is fantastic. Nick says positive things about women's tennis on air, but if he disparages it online, at some point people will stop believing him."
She added that Kyrgios was highly critical of the recent US Open champion for not being sanctioned after testing positive for doping twice last March. However, the former German player had only good things to say about Sinner, making it clear that his game is not at all boring, as some people who dislike him might claim.
"To anyone who finds his tennis boring, I urge them to watch him live if they can. The way he moves, always in perfect balance, with his body slightly leaning forward, as if he's skiing downhill, is something beautiful. No matter how hard he's hit, he never loses his balance."
Petkovic referenced skiing, a sport the world No. 1 practiced as a child, thanks to his proximity to Austria, a mountainous country with a lot of snow, where winter sports are popular. This gave him considerable agility for his tennis game later on.
