The 2023
Mallorca Championships will lose the star power of
Nick Kyrgios between June 26 - July 1 after the Aussie withdrew from the tournament before the draw on Saturday afternoon.
Kyrgios is now not looking good for
Wimbledon. He returned from knee surgery and also these issues were aggravated after his mother was held at gun point in his Tesla.
He said after losing early in Stuttgart that he couldn't walk with pain but also asked his fans for patience.
But when it comes to Wimbledon, that is soon running out. He withdrew from Halle last week and now won't play another warm-up before Wimbledon.
He reached the final of Wimbledon last year and while he may simply be resting ahead of Wimbledon with the gruelling best of five sets and also playing doubles, he may need to hope for a miracle.
Kyrgios being seeded means that he won't play straight away which could be an advantage in his recovery but certainly not ideal for a player who has spent most of the past eight months off the court.
