This Sunday, the final of the ATP 500 Rotterdam Open will be played, where the two main favorites have arrived: first seed
Alex de Minaur will face second seed
Felix Auger-Aliassime, both with previous final experience in Rotterdam and with a close battle in the ATP rankings, which will change depending on the result.
The Australian continues showing his consistency when counted among the favorites, reaching 10 wins in his last 11 matches – with the only exception being the quarterfinals of the Austrian Open against Alcaraz. The 26-year-old player reached the final in Rotterdam for the third consecutive year – and will seek to take personal revenge for previous losses against Sinner and Alcaraz respectively.
Opposite him will be one of the players in the best form of the last few months: Felix Auger-Aliassime, who comes from a strong win against Alexander Bublik in the semifinals – barely conceding three games – and on an 8-match winning streak. Felix lifted the trophy in Rotterdam in 2022 and will look to become the fifth player with at least two titles in Rotterdam – alongside Nicolas Escude (2), Robin Soderling (2), Gael Monfils (2), and Roger Federer (3).
De Minaur shows consistency: 10 wins in 11 matches
World No. 8 is one of the most consistent players regarding ATP 500 tournaments. In fact, he has reached 51 wins in the category since 2023 – being the player with the most victories, leaving behind Carlos Alcaraz (44), Jannik Sinner, and Alexander Zverev (43). De Minaur also has three titles in the category, in addition to five other finals reached.
This season he arrived as first seed following the withdrawal of defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, and so far he has shown an impressive level to advance rounds and accumulate wins. He defeated Arthur Fils and Stan Wawrinka in straight sets to reach the quarterfinals, where he had a more complicated challenge against local Botic van de Zandschulp.
Nevertheless, De Minaur showed good handling of pressure to advance (3-6, 7-6, 7-5) and then in the semifinals took just over an hour to overcome the surprising Ugo Humbert. De Minaur has now reached 10 finals since 2023 – seven of them in ATP 500 tournaments (record 3-3 in the category since 2023).
The Australian continues to maintain his place at the head of the advanced Tour group that fights to enter the top-5 and take advantage of the absences of Alcaraz, Sinner, and Djokovic to gain ground in other tournaments.

Felix Auger-Aliassime (No. 6) extended his streak to 8 consecutive wins and reached
back-to-back finals after winning the Open Occitanie a week prior – where he defeated Adrian Mannarino in the final. The Canadian has barely conceded a set in his 8-win streak and arrives full of confidence after overcoming Alexander Bublik, his first top-10 victory of the season and 26th of his career, conceding only three games in a win that took less than an hour.
The Canadian will contest the 22nd final of his career and the 7th since early 2025. The 25-year-old player finished 2025 on a high note – reaching semifinals in ATP Finals and the final of the Paris Masters.
This week he defeated Alexei Popyrin, Hamad Medjedovic, Tallon Griekspoor, and Alexander Bublik in straight sets, the latter being an impressive display of tennis, winning 96% of points on his first serve, not conceding break points, and Bublik scoring only 7 points from returns.

Head-to-head favors Felix
So far, the head-to-head favors Auger-Aliassime 3-1, with their last encounter in the quarterfinals of the 2025 US Open – where the Canadian prevailed in 4 sets (4-6, 7-6, 7-5, 7-6). Of the four duels, three were on hard courts (3-0 for Felix), while De Minaur’s only win came on the clay courts of the Rome Open 2024.
A win for Felix will allow him to maintain his world No. 6 position – and reduce the gap to top-5 Lorenzo Musetti, now just 5 points away. In the case of De Minaur – currently No. 8 – he could reach No. 6 if he wins the title and displaces his final opponent, moving up to No. 7.
