The Dallas Open is the next tournament to take place on the ATP 500 calendar between February 9-15, 2026 in Frisco, United States.
Taking place at the Ford Center at the Star, it sees Denis Shapovalov return to defend the title that he claimed 12 months ago. Back then he defeated Casper Ruud 7-6, 6-3. Ruud will not return though with the Norwegian ace going home amid the birth of his daughter.
But the field will be led by Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton among others as well as the defending champion and is the same week as Rotterdam as well as the start of the Golden Swing in Buenos Aires.

Predictions

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate sees a different winner from the norm.
It would be quite easy to pick Ben Shelton or Taylor Fritz but both have had injury issues as of late so I'm going to pick a player from the chasing pack.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is due a run after last year while Tommy Paul is perhaps the top American pick. I also put Learner Tien up there and maybe a return run for Grigor Dimitrov.
Novak Djokovic shakes hands with Grigor Dimitrov.
Grigor Dimitrov for a return run?
Overall a superb tournament to begin the post Australian Open run and a sojourn towards Dallas for the week begins that run right.
*** Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
** Tommy Paul, Learner Tien
* Grigor Dimitrov, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz
Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate sees Learner Tien being crowned as the champion in an American heavy field.
Tennis is heading to the States for the first time in 2026 on the ATP Tour with all eyes on Dallas as some of the best American players in the world lead a strong lineup in the second year of it being an ATP 500 event.
This will catch the eye and certainly motivate both Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton who have endured up and down starts to the year. While Fritz has struggled with injury, his results have not been at the standard expected. He did, however, get his American number one status back from Shelton who could not back up last year’s Australian Open semi-final but is looking good on court and is one of the hot favourites to take the title home.
The 2024 champion Tommy Paul has started the year with some good results, including a semi-final in Adelaide. He will hope to get his title back, but the number four seed will have stiff competition from the likes of Alejandro Davifovich Fokina, who retired in their match in Melbourne. Still without a title, no one is more motivated than the Spaniard to finally get over the line.
When looking at the lineup, you just cannot get away from the American talent. Learner Tien broke new ground at Melbourne Park with his quarter-final run while playing some excellent tennis. He will be one to watch in Dallas with the players not wanting to run into the 20-year-old.
Think the reigning champion Denis Shapovalov and Frances Tiafoe could also have an argument for a deep run, but for the championship I am going with the underdog story of Tien to clinch the best title of his young career.
*** Learner Tien
** Ben Shelton, Tommy Paul
* Taylor Fritz, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Denis Shapovalov
