The 2024 edition of the
Indian Wells is set to begin on
Wednesday where players from all over the world will battle to secure the ultimate
prize.
Just like every year, there is special interest from the viewers
about the possible quarterfinal draw. This year, the projected quarterfinal
draw is as usual an exciting one.
If everything goes according to how the results, it will see
the likes of the current world number one
Novak Djokovic go up against Hubert
Hurkacz in the quarterfinal of the competition.
In the other last-eight clash, the world number four Russia’s
Danill Medvedev going up against Denmark’s Holger Rune, number three-ranked
Jannik Sinner to go up against Russia’s Andrey Rublev and two-time Grand Slam
winner
Carlos Alcaraz going up against Germany’s Alexandar Zverev.
The winner of the Djokovic-Hurkacz clash will face the
winner of Medvedev-Rune match in the semifinal whereas the player who will come
out on top in the Sinner-Rublev tie will face the winner of the match between
Alcaraz and Zverev.
This year, Spain’s Alcaraz will be defending his title in
the men’s singles category. He won the competition last year after defeating
Russia’s Medvedev in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
