The Nitto
ATP Finals are just under two months away and many players are still vying for a place at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy.
Three players have already made it past the threshold of 5025 points. At the top is World No. 1
Novak Djokovic with 8945. The Serb has had a dominant season this year winning his record 24th Grand Slam title at the US Open earlier this month. This will be the 36-year-old's sixteenth ATP Finals appearance, having won the tournament six times - in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2022.
Carlos Alcaraz and
Daniil Medvedev have also made it past the threshold with 8175 and 6590 points respectively. The latter is competing at the tournament for the fifth consecutive year and won the title in 2020.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Alcaraz will make his second appearance in the Finals after defeating Djokovic in the final of Wimbledon earlier this year.
Sinner, Rublev, and Tsitsipas in contention for ATP Finals
However, there are still four spots to fill in Turin and there are multiple players who could make the cut. The closest to qualification is Italy's
Jannik Sinner, who has the extra motivation of playing on home soil if he passes the threshold. The 22-year-old has had a solid season, including winning his first ATP Masters 1000 title at the Canadian Open in August. He currently has 4365 points.
Close behind him is World No. 6
Andrey Rublev with 3640 points. The Russian has had a successful time as of late, reaching the quarter-finals of both the US Open and Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Stefanos Tsitsipas sits in sixth position on the Live ATP Race list. Although he suffered a disappointingly early exit at the last Grand Slam of the year in New York, his successes earlier in the season, such as reaching the Australian Open final, put him at 3570 points.
Seventh on the list is World No. 10 Alexander Zverev. The German came back from an injury this season to try and re-claim his former success on the ATP Tour. Recently, he has seemed to be doing just that, making it to the quarter-finals of the US Open and reaching the final of the ongoing Chengdu Open.
Holger Rune is in eighth place at the moment with 3055 points but snapping close at his heels is Taylor Fritz with 3010. Casper Ruud sits in tenth place with 2625 points after a summer of early exits.
