Known for his love of golf, Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal will be featured in a charity golf tournament hosted by compatriot and retired basket ball, Pau Gasol, as they aim to tackle childhood obesity.
The former World No.1 retired from the ATP Tour in 2024 following a lengthy battle with injuries. The 22-time Grand Slam champion played his last match at the Davis Cup finals in Malaga, surrounded by family and friends as everyone bid the tennis superstar farewell.

Nadal to compete alongside other sports celebrities

The Gasol Foundation Golf Invitational, a charity golf tournament organized by former Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol, will take place from June 19–22 in San Roque and La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz). The event will bring top athletes together to raise funds for the prevention of childhood obesity, which has been a mission for the Gasol Foundation.
Some notable participants include Nadal, Rudy Fernández, Álvaro Morata, and Bernd Schuster. The event will be played in a team format across the stunning La Hacienda Links Golf Resort.
"The event is born from our commitment to promote healthy living and prevent childhood obesity," said Gasol, who co-founded the Gasol Foundation with his brother Marc in 2014. "It’s an opportunity to raise funds, generate awareness, and enjoy golf in a spectacular setting."
