Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, has announced a Netflix documentary series about his life and legendary career. Nadal shared a teaser video on social media, offering a glimpse of the exclusive moments captured during his return to competition in 2024 after a year-long absence due to injury.

Exclusive look at Rafael Nadal’s journey

The docuseries, produced in collaboration with Skydance Sports, will delve into Nadal’s career, featuring interviews with his family, close circle of coaches, and advisors. Directed by Emmy-nominated Zach, the series promises an intimate portrayal of the Spanish legend’s journey.

“Rafael Nadal is one of the most influential and greatest figures in sports history,” said Diego Ávalos, Netflix’s Vice President of Content for Spain, Portugal, and the Nordics. “We’re thrilled to tell his incredible story to our members and offer an up-close look at the journey he undertook to build his legacy and become the legend he is today.”

“I never imagined doing something like this,” Nadal confessed. “But when I received a call from David Ellison, and with the incredible project he presented, I was convinced it was the right thing to do. I’m sure the final product will be amazing and seen worldwide.”

The teaser revealed little, showing only a clay court background with glimpses of Nadal’s silhouette while narrating some of the remarkable achievements that captivated the tennis world since his junior days.

Nadal officially ended his career a few weeks ago after his last appearance in the Davis Cup with Spain. He lost his singles match against Botic van de Zandschulp during Spain’s elimination, marking the close of his unforgettable career.

The docuseries does not yet have an official release date or title.
