Novak Djokovic will continue to play less going forward he admits and even more so nowadays as he has no plans to go back to the previous full schedule. Djokovic is well known for being hit and miss in when he plays.
He is only playing for the first time in two months in Rome this week after only playing the United Cup, Australian Open, Monte-Carlo Masters and now Rome. This has also added conjecture as to his results with many quipping about his losses despite him hardly playing.
But it is to do with his family life more than anything with Djokovic admitting that his family comes first more than anything else especially at 37 and that he may decrease his schedule as opposed to adding to it.
"Yeah, I think it does. On the other hand, it also may take a little bit more time to find that desired level because the fewer matches you play, the more challenging it becomes because you're lacking the competitive matchplay," said Djokovic.
"It's a conscientious decision that I'm making now. I'm 37 and I want to spend more time with the family. I want to be picking and choosing a little bit more specifically from this season onwards. Where I want to play, where I enjoy to play, where it fits the schedule."
