Spain’s legendary tennis star
Rafael Nadal and France’s Richard
Gasquet trained alongside in Manacor ahead of the 2024 season.
Both players are heading towards the end of their respective
careers. In a picture posted on social media platform X — previously known as
Twitter — both players trained in Manacor ahead of the upcoming season.
Both players faced off 18 times on the court and on each
occasion, it was the 22-time Grand Slam winner who came out on top.
Nadal is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained
earlier in the year. It was because of this reason the former world number one
ended up missing three out of the four Grand Slams in 2023.
On the other hand, Gasquet had a decent time on the court in
2023 where he also won an ATP title. That triumph came in Auckland in January where
he defeated Britain’s Cameron Norrie in the final with a score of 4-6, 6-4,
6-4.
However, in major events, Gasquet had a rather mediocre time.
The current world number 76 played in the main draw of all four Grand Slams
but could not manage to qualify for the second round or beyond in any of the
mega-events.
