Former
world No. 1
Andy Roddick jokingly commented on
J.J. Wolf's hairstyle during the
Rome Open.
The
24-year-old tennis player was originally drawn to play against Quentin Halys in
the first round, but the Frenchman withdrew before the match, so he faced lucky
loser Hugo Grenier instead. After his victory, Wolf advanced to the second
round by defeating Polish player Hubert Hurkacz.
“Hubi is
one of the best players out here. I was just honored to be on the court with
him today,” Wolf said after beating Hurckacz.
Roddick
playfully suggested that Wolf might have gone to Supercuts and asked for the
reverse Ricky Vaughn from 'Major League' due to his hairstyle.
“Yeah I was
just thinking as we were talking about J.J. Wolf. It’s like he went to
Supercuts and asked for the reverse Ricky Vaughn from ‘Major League.’ Like
there is no chance that J.J. Wolf got that haircut in Europe. There’s no
chance, they wouldn’t do it," 2003 US Open champion said.
Wolf is
currently ranked 54th in the ATP rankings and is getting ready to play against
Alexander Zverev in the third round.
