Andy Roddick doubled down on his comments about
Carlos Alcaraz after a fan called him out after he called Alcaraz the most complete 19-year old he ever saw.
Andy Roddick made a comment a few days ago during the Tennis Channel's coverage of the Madrid Open. Asked about Alcaraz, Roddick explained that the Spanish superstar is the most complete 19-year old he has ever seen. According to Roddick, Alcaraz looks more complete overall than either Federer or Nadal looked at that age.
A fan didn't like his comment calling him out on Twitter writing:
"Pump the breaks @andyroddick lol. Don’t underestimate how much of competitor Rafa was (and is). I’m not sure Alcaraz has THAT type of insanity (lol). I agree he is insanely talented , but we all know it doesn’t just stop there."
Roddick was happy to double down on his comments saying:
"I’ll be sure to pump the brakes on giving my opinions about tennis on TV on a show that people watch for tennis coverage. There’s plenty of time ahead and not saying he will have the career they have. Simply, guy doesn’t have weaknesses right now. At 19, not sure I’ve seen it."
