Who is missing from Italian Open Rome including Nadal, Berrettini, Kyrgios, Bencic and Raducanu

The 2023 Internazionali BNL d'Italia Rome (Italian Open) promises to be a star-studded event, but will be missing some big names as several players have been sidelined due to injury.

The Masters 1000 tournament will run from May 10-21, and is often seen as one of the premier clay-court events of the season. Although defending champion Novak Djokovic is scheduled to compete, 10-time champion Rafale Nadal recently announced his withdrawal as he struggles to recover in time for Roland Garros.

Several other players will be missing in action, as injuries have plagued the tour this early in the season. Below is a list of stars who will be missing the Italian Open.

The WTA will also see some superstars missing the event due to injury, as 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu announced this week she had undergone surgery on her hands and ankles. The British star will be sidelined for a few months, and could potentially miss Wimbledon. Swiss star Belinda Bencic is also set to miss the event.
