Team Europe managed to defeat Team World 13-11 at the 2019 Laver Cup and players and captains had a lot to say after the event was over.

Most important player of every team is definitely the captain. For Team Europe it was former world number 1 Björn Borg, who chose a winning team 3rd time in a row. After the win he said:
“Team World came once again very close but we won the right points and had maybe a little bit of luck. I’m very proud of my team, they did a hell of a job. I’m a very happy captain.”
Also captain of Team World John McEnroe spoke about his feelings. This year his team got the closest to winning the title, but did not manage it again. Next Year in Boston he will try to take an advantage of the home soil for Team World.
"I want to congratulate Team Europe, it was awesome – I’m getting very sick and tired of you. I’m so proud to be the captain of this team, they fought their hearts out. World, you guys are awesome.”
The player that won the final 13th point for the Team Europe was Alexander Zverev, who did it also a year ago and so he expressed his emotions.
“I’ve never played in something like that, it was unbelievable. It’s very special, especially playing in front of those guys and them trusting me to play the last singles game. This event is something I hope to play in every single year of my career.”
The last one to speak was home crowd favourite Roger Federer. Knowing the Laver Cup was played in Geneva, Federer, of course, had a lot of motivation to help his team win it. And crowd gave him the needed boost by supporting him in every match he played.
“Congratulations Team World on an unbelievable fight, I can’t wait for the next one in Boston. For us, so many emotions. It’s been an unbelievable rollercoaster. Bjorn, you’re a great captain, and Rocket (Rod Laver), thanks for being here today. It makes it more special."
"It’s been a dream weekend for me to be playing in Switzerland. Thank you for all the noise you’ve made, I’ve loved every moment.”
