Roger Federer and Andy Murray played a warm-up match that was described as intense by the staff who witnessed it.
The former Wimbledon champions decided to test each other game in a warm-up match at Wimbledon. The intense practice session lasted an hour and finished with Murray up 6-5 in games. Neither player showed a great level playing on grass last week as Murray lost to Berrettini while Federer lost to Auger-Aliassime.
Both of them are hoping for a great result and Wimbledon but it will be tough. Murray will face Nikoloz Basilashvili in the first round with the Georgian showing some great tennis last week in Halle. Federer on the other hand will face Adrien Mannarino in the first round which is another player that loves playing on grass.
Mannarino has not been playing well lately so Federer will certainly fancy his chances. Getting off to a good start will be paramount for Federer to limit the amount of time he spends on the courts before the 2nd week. For Murray, any result will be a good result considering his lack of play.
