"Roger Federer is irreplaceable" - says Richard Gasquet

Roger Federer played Wimbledon which is something many fans craved to see yet his result suggested his time is probably coming to an end as a tennis player.

Seeing Roger Federer still play tennis is something many tennis fans around the world enjoy. His importance for the resurgence of tennis in the 2000s has been instrumental. However, a bad loss at Wimbledon suggests his time as a tennis player might be coming to an end.

Those feelings intensified once he announced that he suffered a setback with his knee which is not something you want to see for an athlete with two knee surgeries already.

Asked about Federer Gasquet said:

"He is the greatest player of all time in terms of aesthetics. For me, Federer is unimaginable and irreplaceable, he's the greatest player of all time in terms of aesthetics, the grace he has on the court. I watch tennis for that."

Federer is currently back home in Switzerland rehabbing the knee after announcing the setback which forced him to pull out of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
