Roger Federer experienced a disappointing loss in Halle to Felix Auger-Aliassime but Andy Murray believes the legend will figure things out.
Neither Andy Murray nor Roger Federer have enjoyed much success in 2021. Both are making their way back onto the tour and Federer experienced an unexpected loss at his favoured Halle event. Federer lost to Felix Auger-Aliassime which shocked many including Federer who was very disappointed afterwards.
The defeat cast doubt over his form one week ahead of Wimbledon which Federer aims to win. But, 2x Wimbledon winner Andy Murray believes Roger will figure things out. He said:
I understand why it would be frustrating for Federer, but I’m sure he will work it out. It’s different playing at Slams. It’s not the same as competing at the other tournaments, and certainly, I don’t think for the other players, like stepping on court with somebody like him at Wimbledon will be different. Yeah, I think he’ll figure stuff out."
Federer will not play any other event prior to Wimbledon and he will enter the Grand Slam having only played two matches on grass. It's not ideal but Federer will believe in himself and you can never count him out in Wimbledon.
