Russia will be playing quarterfinals at 2020 ATP Cup after another victory

Russia defeated also Norway at the 2020 ATP Cup as they added the third victory and secured the place among the Final Eight.

After two comfortable victories over the team of Italy and the United States, Russia was searching for another victory also over Norway. ATP Cup proved to be a good competition for Russians who are led by former no.1 Marat Safin.
In the first matchup, Karen Khachanov faced Viktor Durasovic. The big gap in the ranking was visible also during the match as world number 17 dominated the match. Khachanov gave Russia 1-0 lead after 62 minutes when he won 6-2, 6-1.
The fifth player in the world, Daniil Medvedev was facing the big talent from Norway, Casper Ruud. The Norwegian had a successful week in Australia so far, when he defeated both Fognini and Isner in singles. However, Medvedev was too much for him. The Russian won the match 6-3 and 7-6 after 95 minutes.
As after 8 matches played in the group stage, Russia had the score 7-1, 3 won ties and secured the spot in the quarterfinals, for the doubles, they nominated their player no.3 and no.5. Teymuraz Gabashvili & Konstantin Kravchuk will be facing Ruud & Durasovic.
