The Paris Masters begins on Monday morning with first round action taking Centre Stage on the courts of Paris-Bercy at the Accor Arena. Our preview looks ahead to Day One with the schedule confirmed after qualifiers have been placed.
Novak Djokovic is defending champion in Paris. But he won't defend said title with the Serbian ace deciding instead aside from if he plays the ATP Finals to end his season in Shanghai officially but unofficially at the Six Kings Slam.
This means that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz as they have for most of the season will lead the field. Neither have won the title with their emergence coming in between Rune and Djokovic's wins in the respective past two years prior to COVID. So a big opportunity presents them.

But also today in particular with a main game is important for the ATP Finals. The road to Turin continues and Tommy Paul who will play on Court Central (the main show court this eveing) will have to battle home support for hero Adrian Mannarino. But he sits just outside the spots and if Djokovic decides he wants to sit out Turin, he will likely be the benefactor. He has had a superb couple of months including winning the Stockholm Open recently and so could be set for one final run.
Stefanos Tsitsipas has been winning matches again after being a player befuddled by his current form at times. But he has been losing to top names including Arthur Fils and Jiri Lehecka who are hungry for success and also have had golden weeks in the process. He is one of many players just outside too alongside Tommy Paul so if he can convert early good results into a big name win he could yet figure. He faces Roberto Carballes Baena today.
Starting at 10:00am, there is Tallon Griekspoor or rising Italian, Luciano Darderi. Albeit the Dutchman has been strong recently and Darderi's favoured surface is clay. He also holds a 3-0 Head to Head advantage so the impetus is with him.
Home heroes are the way to go with Arthur Rinderknech and Quentin Halys both on the Central Court. Albeit the former faces the in-form Tomas Machac. Francisco Cerundolo for Halys. Zhang Zhizhen faces Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Juncheng Shang takes on Marcos Giron and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will face Sebastian Baez.
Before three top matches as Ugo Humbert who is one of the headline French offerings faces Brandon Nakashima. Alexander Bublik battles Fabio Fognini in what could be a showman spectacle. While Nicolas Jarry will aim to snap a poor run of form against Lorenzo Sonego. Alejandro Tabilo and Nuno Borges start that night session which features Tsitsipas and Paul. Most of the top names will play later on in the week so it is very much setting up those clashes for the top eight in the early going.
