Rafael Nadal won another match at Roland Garros and it was a great match between him and Cameron Norrie with Nadal winning 6-3 6-3 6-3.
Rafael Nadal had a great performance today against Cameron Norrie to defeat the tricky Brit in three great sets. Norrie has been one of the standout performers on clay this season and his effort today was more than respectable. The first set featured good play from both players but it was Nadal who won it 6-4.
Norrie only played one bad game but against Rafa, on the red dirt you need to be perfect and that one game cost him. Nadal committed quite a few cheap mistakes which helped Norrie as well. The 2nd set was another great one.
Norrie broke Nadal early in the 2nd set to give himself the 2-0 lead but Nadal got it right back. The Brit broke him once again for the 3-1 but once again Nadal pulled it back to make it 3-3. He then went on a 3-0 run to wrap up the set 6-3. Nadal won the last five games of the set and it was the beginning of the end for Norrie.
In the 3rd set Nadal pretty much took over as Norrie had no answers for Nadal's play. Nadal was spectacular hitting his shots with almost no errors. He wrapped up the set and match with 6-3. Nadal will face Sinner for a quarterfinal place at the French Open.
