Following the release of the new season of Netflix's Break Point, ATP tennis star Daniil Medvedev has dismissed the manner in which he was portrayed on the docuseries.
Netflix released the second season on January 10, giving tennis fans more glimpses into behind-the-scenes encounters of tennis stars during the grueling 2023 season. Medvedev was featured prominently in the fourth episode entitled 'Unfinished Business', highlighting several of the Russian's outbursts on court. Furthermore, German tennis star Alexander Zverev spoke on his rivalry with Medvedev, stating the former World No.1 often employed mind games to gain an advantage over his opponents.

Medvedev unimpressed with his portrayal on the docuseries

As he prepares for the upcoming Australian Open, Medvedev as asked about his thoughts on the new season of the hit show. The 2021 US Open champion stated he had not watched any episodes in its entirety, but believes Netflix tends to sensationalize everything in an attempt to create drama and keep the viewers interested.
"I didn't watch the episode," admitted Medvedev. "I saw a little bit here and there. I'm still on social media. I didn't watch it and probably will not because I'll get frustrated probably. I heard a little bit. I don't have much to say. That's how Netflix is, and that's why we see it, because it exaggerates things, it's usually hot and cold, there is no neutral. People around me, people in the locker room, they know how I am, how I am on court, which can be tricky, how I am off court. I feel like I have a good relationship with mostly all of the tour. I don't have much to add because, yeah, series is not real life."
