The UTR rankings at the end of the season highlight significant shifts compared to the ATP rankings, with only Jannik Sinner maintaining his position as the Tour leader. Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Jack Draper, and Ugo Humbert are among those climbing when comparing the two rankings.
The Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is an alternative ranking system designed to provide an objective and accurate measure of players' current form. It uses a 16-point scale, calculating rankings based on the last 30 matches played over the previous 12 months. The system considers the percentage of matches won, not just results, and places greater value on victories against higher-ranked opponents.
In the UTR rankings, there are notable differences within the top 10. However, Jannik Sinner remains the undeniable world No. 1 with a UTR of 16.39, comfortably ahead of Carlos Alcaraz (16.30) and Novak Djokovic (16.25). Both displaced Alexander Zverev (16.25) to No. 4, while Taylor Fritz (16.14) completes the top 5.
There are intriguing names in the top 10, with ATP world No. 14 Ugo Humbert ranked No. 6 after a strong season finish, including a finals appearance at the Paris Masters and an early win over Carlos Alcaraz in the round of 16. Alex de Minaur sits at No. 7.
One of the biggest surprises is Jack Draper, who jumps from ATP world No. 15 to UTR world No. 8 after a remarkable campaign at the US Open, where he reached his first semifinals. Rounding out the top 10 are American Tommy Paul and Russian Daniil Medvedev, who sees a significant drop compared to his ATP ranking of No. 4.
