It was a sensational display from Jannik Sinner especially in the final set to overcome Bautista Agut a reach his first Masters final.
The match started off well for Bautista who broke Sinner in the first game to take a 2-0 lead. He would hold it for a while but the Italian came back to make it 3-3. After that, a proper battle ensued before the Spaniard seized control of the match once more late in the set. He broke the young Italian to win the opening set 7-5.
The 2nd set featured a strong display of skill from both players. Neither found a way to break the other until midway through the set when Bautista had 3 consecutive break points. He failed to use either and that proved a huge momentum shift in the set.
His play became flat after that and Sinner was able to break him at 5-4 to win the set 6-4. He would recover to start the 3rd set where he took a 3-1. It seemed like he was going to cruise a victory but the Italian would come back once more to tie it up at 3-3.
Bautista once again started playing flat without much power and the young Italian was flying on all cylinders hitting some incredible winners. He stroked the ball much harder in rallies and simply overpower the Spaniard. At 5-4, Bautista once again crumbled handing over the win to Sinner.
A sensational display from the Italian who did not deviate from his supper aggressive style especially late where he was able to hit winner after winner literally blasting Bautista away.
