He will not be defending his title in Miami as he decided to skip this event just like Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem. Even so, the event is one of the strongest this year with 7 of the top 10 attending including world number one Novak Djokovic.
The winner of this event will receive 1000 ATP points and $300,110 in prize money. The finalists will have a consolation prize of 600 ATP points and $165,000. The semifinalists will bag $93,000 and 360 ATP points. The lower rounds will feature lower prize money as well as points distribution.
