Team Serbia made another outrageous promise if they go on to
win the Davis Cup Finals this year. The team led by the world number one Novak
Djokovic has already booked their place in the final of the competition.
Just like in the past, Team Serbia made another outrageous
promise of jumping from the plane if they went on to win the 2023 Davis Cup
Finals. In 2010, the whole team ended up shaving their heads as they promised to
do it in case they went on to win the competition.
Serbia is set to face off against Italy in the semifinal of the
competition on Saturday. The winner will face Australia in the final who got the
better of Finland in the other semifinal.
In the quarterfinal, Serbia defeated Great Britain with a
score of 2-0 to book their place in the last four. In the first match, Miomir Kecmanovic
defeated Jack Draper in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 7-6.
In the second group match, it was Djokovic who came out on
top against Britain’s Cameron Norrie in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-4
to ensure the team’s qualification into the next round. On the other hand,
Italy defeated the Netherlands in the last-eight clash with a score of 2-1.
