Former player Stakhovsky shared some of the messages he sent and received from players who chose to participate in the Russian exhibition

Stakhovsky has been front and centre during his country's war with Russia highlighting what has been going on and doing his contribution during it. He was very disappointed to see some of his colleagues whom he respected participate in the tennis exhibition in Russia which some deemed as a propaganda event.

The event is a response to the tennis tour cancelling events in Russia this year in response to the invasion of Ukraine. He messaged former players Troicki and Tipsarevic underlying his disappointment about their involvement:

"Disappointing Victor. To see you in Russia. But I guess money can buy it all."

"Disappointed Janko. Very disappointing to see you in Russia. I guess money above morals. That's your choice."

They both responded harshly.

Troicki response to Stakhovsky

"To be in the country of my grandparents is priceless! You are an Instagram clown who confused politics and sports. This has nothing to do with the war, but since you mention it, me and my country went through all the shit and never ever got support! So please shut the f*ck up."

Tipsarevic added to Stakhovsky:

"Really? How about this Mr. Instagram Freedom Fighter. Did you or any of your fucking family members boycot or protest in any capacity when NATO forces bombed my country, my family and my people somewhat 20 years ago?"
