Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa withdrew from the Mixed Doubles.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa won't play mixed doubles at the 2024 French Open after all despite initially getting a wildcard to play and it is another time that the duo have decided against playing.
Tsitsipas will face off against Carlos Alcaraz in the main clash tomorrow in the schedule and is known not to be a fan of playing mixed doubles. He shared relief when he didn't have to play it at Wimbledon last year.
Badosa on the other hand has often attempted to get her boyfriend to play in a tournament featuring mixed doubles. They finally teamed up at the World Tennis League at the turn of the year. But due to injury, Tsitsipas decided to withdraw from the tournament soon after their first match. So Badosa instead played with Lloyd Harris.
They recently split up momentarily for just under a month, before reuniting prior to Roland Garros. They were then handed a wildcard for the French Open to play mixed doubles. But have been slated on the schedule for at least three days. With all the delays that have happened over the courts, their match was one of the first each day to be cancelled off the schedule and they have decided to hand their opponents a walkover.
Tsitsipas likely wants to concentrate on his next match. Whilst Badosa no doubt either will be supporting him or will head towards grass after exiting the tournament early on.
