Dominic Thiem and
Gael Monfils will take part in the Mathausen challenger in May in order to regain their form as they are struggling with it.
Monfils is dealing with a lot of injuries and is simply missing playing time but Thiem has been bad even with quite a lot of playing time. The Austrian will play at the challenger event in his native country but he won't be alone as Monfils will join him there. Both are pretty solid clay players but they need matches and more importantly confidence.
Playing a weaker field might help them secure some wins which they both need. There hasn't been much winning for them lately as Thiem won only a handful of matches in the past few months and Monfils is winless since returning from a wrist injury.
