Taylor Fritz was forced to undergo surgery a few days after tearing his meniscus at Roland Garros, but the American has revealed that his surgery was successful.
The World No.33 suffered the injury on the last point of his second round match at the French Open, and even had to leave the court in a wheelchair. After announcing that he would require meniscus surgery, Fritz provided a follow up on social media, stating;
"Hey guys 🙏🏼 Really happy to update you all that my meniscus surgery went about as well as it possibly could go. Like we originally thought my recovery will be 100% and not lengthy. Now it’s time to rehab like a mad man to try to be ready for Wimbledon. My team is confident that it is possible, and it would be pretty crazy to pull it off so LFG 💪🏼."
With Wimbledon only a few weeks away, it will be a race against time as the 23-year old hopes to recover in time for the biggest Grand Slam of the season.
